Camille Anthony, Advanced Clinical Intern
It is not uncommon to feel overwhelmed and sometimes drained both physically and emotionally by the state of the world today. Amidst ongoing global challenges and rapid societal changes, most have begun to recognize that mental health is crucial as individuals and communities grapple with heightened stress, uncertainty, and social complexities. These are some of the reasons that I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families toward improving their mental wellness and making strides toward overall happiness, peace, and fulfillment in their lives.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern currently pursuing a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at Capella University, building upon my undergraduate education completed at Purchase College, SUNY. My professional journey has been enriched by diverse experiences, including roles in Early Childhood Education and as a Pharmacy Technician, which have shaped my understanding of human development and healthcare dynamics.
Rooted in the systemic basis of Marriage and Family Therapy, my approach is grounded in the belief that individuals are intricately interconnected within their family systems and broader social contexts. This holistic perspective informs my therapeutic practice, emphasizing the impact of relational dynamics, cultural influences, and systemic factors on clients' well-being and personal growth.
Described by peers as compassionate, caring, and empathetic, I am deeply committed to supporting individuals, couples, and families in navigating their emotional challenges and fostering healthier relationships. I am particularly drawn to practicing from the perspective of an Emotionally Focused Therapist, integrating an eclectic viewpoint that includes principles from structural family therapy, narrative therapy, Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). This integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy sessions to meet the unique needs and goals of each client, facilitating meaningful and sustainable changes.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I have a personal passion for the arts, including music, literature, and theater. These interests enrich my therapeutic approach, fostering creativity and empathy in my work with clients. As a young woman, I have always been attuned to the interconnectedness of mind and body, advocating for holistic self-care and total wellness that includes mental health. I align deeply with the systemic approach of Marriage and Family Therapy because of its comprehensive view of overall wellness, recognizing that each individual is part of a larger system that significantly influences mental health and well-being.
When you are prepared, I am confident that together we can strive towards your unique aspirations, effecting profound and impactful transformations in your life. My role is to provide steadfast support on your path toward meaningful change, illuminating a brighter future ahead.
