If you have landed on this page, there's a pretty strong chance you are wondering whether or not I am the right therapist for you. You are trying to determine whether I will understand and provide you with the support you need to get to a better place in your life and relationships. Your concerns are valid as the right fit is essential in therapy.
I am a change-focused and action-based therapist. The clients who seem to find me a fantastic fit are ready for different things in their lives. They are not satisfied with only talking about their struggles, although they understand that there are benefits to getting things off their chest; they also want change-directed interventions.
I began working in the Behavioral health field at a young age. I understand that it is not always easy to seek help or face issues that can be deeply ingrained. I believe that a non-judgmental and supportive space is the best place to engage in the therapeutic process, and I do my best to provide that. Our relationships play a significant role in our lives. They affect our development as children and our quality of life as adults. I am particularly interested in working with those who want to heal wounds from past relationships and strengthen current relationships, whether in their personal or professional lives. I have experience in working with clients dealing with emotionally immature parents and narcissistic relationships. I celebrate the differences between us in our personalities and cultural backgrounds, so I tailor my treatment to fit each couple's and client's needs.
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 15 years of experience in the Behavioral Health field. I have a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Commonwealth University (Go Rams!) and a Master's from Mercy College. Giving my clients the best care possible is very important to me, so I have also received training at Harvard Medical School Cambridge Health Alliance. I extend my care outside the session space by providing helpful resources to support my clients between sessions, thus affording them a high-value supportive level of care. In addition, I implement cognitive behavioral therapy for clients who want a more action-based, change-oriented treatment method. Structural Family Therapy and EFT are inclusive in this treatment.

Life is full of highs, lows, and lots of in-betweens. Sometimes we may require assistance navigating these experiences to make decisions best suited for us and the people around us. I decided to become a Marriage and Family Therapist because I believe healthy relationships with the people who matter the most affect all other aspects of our lives. I am a graduate student at Mercy College, seeking to provide a comfortable and non-judgmental environment where clients feel fully seen, heard, and understood.
Everyone has a unique life experience, so my goal is to collaborate with each client to accomplish their self-identified goals.
I have decades of experience working with children, teens, and young adults to develop their leadership and life skills. I also have many years of experience working as an occupational therapy assistant with children, teens, and their families. Working with young people and their families has taught me how to develop individualized solutions to their specific issues. While providing a safe, nurturing, and caring environment, we can work through any and all of your struggles together.

Whether you are adjusting to or moving on to a new chapter, trying to improve self-awareness, self-compassion, or wanting to understand your partner, I believe in embracing these times of adversity as chances for personal growth and view conflicts as gateways to bonding. My advocacy for mental and emotional wellness also inspires me to work with adults, couples, families, and teens on managing ADHD, anxiety, and depression. With open expression and transparency, we will partner to improve healthy communication patterns while establishing and reinforcing boundaries and strengthening your resiliency so that you can experience the peace you deserve.
For the past eight years, I have passionately cared for a diverse group of children, adolescents, and teens, supporting them through the hardships and emotions that accompany school, social life, peer pressure and conflict, divorce, loss, and other areas of development in transitioning life stages. Being bi-racial contributes to my understanding of the significance of being culturally aware/sensitive/and embracing the differences that shape us. As an MFT graduate intern, I look forward to working with you to achieve your individual and relational goals.

I am an MFT graduate student at Nyack Alliance Graduate School of Counseling. My choice to become a Marriage and Family Therapist comes from a deep desire to enrich, heal and restore the lives of individuals and the bonds we have with each other. I strive to provide a comfortable, authentic, judgment-free, and safe space for everyone. It's essential to the root of the issue and help couples and individuals experience their purpose, strengths, and authentic selves. I offer both clinical and Christian counseling. I have experience working with young adults in self-worth, spiritual wounds/confusion, chronic anxiety, depression, and family-related distress/trauma. I am also a certified Prepare and Enrich facilitator, helping couples as they journey into marriage with premarital counseling and enrichment counseling for couples who want to enhance their existing union. I grew up in a culturally diverse atmosphere and brought a love of culture and cultural competency to work. My husband and I are of different racial and cultural backgrounds. We strive to incorporate the beautiful qualities of each of our cultures in our marriage while still creating our culture, which is what marriage is anyway, you're unique culture. I can confidently say I understand the difficulties of being in a multicultural marriage and help my client navigate the complexities of their union.
